Huge Demand for Foot Care Practitioners

In case you wondered if there was a real demand for foot care professionals, take note of the number of foot care patients in just one county, Staffordshire - 42,700! Then notice that the county's health service has just removed over 11,000 of them from their waiting list.

That's 11,000 untreated foot care clients in one county...

A story on This is Staffordshire (www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk) explains:

"Plans are also being considered for high street chemists, nurses and care home staff to be drafted in to offer a simple toenail-cutting service.

Officials said action was needed because the lists had nearly doubled in three years to a staggering nine per cent of the entire North Staffordshire population.

Much of the explosion has been put down to a growth in people diagnosed with diabetes and so requiring regular chiropody consultations to prevent their foot problems leading to complications such as limb amputations."

It sounds to me like there's a need for a much more complete service than simple nail cutting! There's a huge demand for professional foot care and it can only increase.

But Staffordshire isn't the only county where services are being cut, is it? If there are 11,000 people needing professional foot care in Staffs, how many are there in your area?

You can train in professional foot care and become a quailified Foot Care Practitioner in just a few weeks with The College of Foot Care Practitioners in the historic Norfolk coastal town of Kings Lynn. Visit the website now and then get in touch!

New Laser Technology at the Foot Care Centre

      NEWS RELEASE:

Now Kings Lynn Foot Care Centre Introduces Laser* Technology

The Foot Care Clinic in Kings Lynn is introducing even more hi-tech equipment to speed the treatment of clients’ foot problems. Not content with the recent launch of their cryosurgery treatment for warts, corns and verrucas, they now have laser equipment, too.

The laser can be ‘tuned’ and used for many purposes, but perhaps the biggest advance (if not the most glamorous) is laser treatment for fungal nail infections.

As Elizabeth Dutton, owner of the clinic says, “Nail fungus is a persistent and unsightly problem for a lot of people and the chemical treatments they’ve been using up to now don’t have a great record of success, quite frankly. Sadly, a lot of people are embarrassed to show their toes in public because of it.”

Although not many of us will want to expose our toes outside at this time of year, this is the party season and prettily painted nails can certainly add a touch more glamour to a glittery outfit. Some of us are lucky enough to fly off to warmer climes at this time of year, too.

Elizabeth adds, “The Omega Laser I use is painless and effective. You could spend months trying to get rid of a fungal infection with chemicals before you hit the beaches next summer, or you could take a shortcut and get it treated much more quickly and reliably.”

The Omega Laser can also treat corns, warts and cracked skin and help with the healing of damaged muscles and tendons. It can help pain relief, too.

You can find out more about Laser treatment from www.TheFootCareCentreKingsLynn.co.uk under ‘Clinics’ or call the clinic on 01553 768 661.

Elizabeth Dutton is a foot health care practitioner and trainer. She treats foot, back and joint problems at her clinic in Kings Lynn and home visits.

Kings Lynn Foot Care Clinic Announces 'Freeze Your Verruca Away' Technology

        News Release:

The Foot Care Clinic in Kings Lynn is introducing an exciting addition to help its verruca sufferers. They have brought in cryosurgery equipment and will be running verruca clinics on Tuesdays and Thursdays from January 2011.

Elizabeth Dutton, owner of the clinic says, “For many, verrucas are not only unsightly and embarrassing, but can be painful too, and we like to help people get rid of them as quickly as possible. We already treat verrucas but this cryosurgery equipment will speed up treatment.”

Cryosurgery means the freezing of tissue (in this case, verrucas) using liquid nitrogen. The freezing kills the cells off, and the verruca can typically be expected to be gone after three short treatments. It can also be used to get rid of warts and deep-set corns.

Elizabeth adds, “According to Channel 4’s Embarrassing Illnesses, eight million of us have verrucas! Although some verrucas clear up on their own, it can be a long, and sometimes painful, process to get rid of them by yourself. I’m excited about being able to help people get rid of theirs.”

You can find out more about verruca elimination from www.TheFootCareCentreKingsLynn.co.uk under ‘Clinics’ or call the clinic on 01553 768 661.

Foot Care Kicks Off in Littleport, Cambridge

Welcome to The Utopia Centre, the home of professional footcare and certificated weight loss in Littleport, Cambridgeshire.

Why combine weight loss and footcare?

Well, we know from experience that weight problems are often associated with foot pain and joint problems.

From corns and callouses to more deep-seated foot problems, we also know that losing excess weight is almost always reflected in healthier and less painful feet.

But even if you're not overweight you can still have foot, knee and hip pain if you have a basic mechanical problem with your feet or your gait, and we can help you with those, too.

In fact, much knee, back and hip trouble stems from the feet, so it makes sense to come to The Utopia Centre if you have persistent or recurring pain in any of those areas.

We'll be sharing some footcare and weightloss tips with you here, but for more detailed information now, visit The Utopia Centre website or speak to us in person!

          Here's to pain-free feet...
